For Crying Out Loud: David Wild

David WildLynette and Stefanie are pleased to welcome David Wild to the show, who has recently co-written a book with Brad Paisley. The girls talk to him about Courtney Love, and other celebrities that have gone in and out of rehab. They also learn his story of how he got involved with Rolling Stone, and David expresses his love for Adam Carolla’s podcasts.

Later, Lynette shares her love of Springsteen, and Stefanie talks about being in a Bob Dylan video. The guys also talk about David’s kids and what types of music they enjoy. Toward the end of the show, the group listens to Adam’s comments on the Rolling Stone Best Of lists, and David comments on some very famous pop divas. As the show wraps up, the guys talk about Adam’s checked-out parents, and play a bit of rock’n’roll trivia.

  1. Amy Lounsberry says:

Love the podcast – I’ve listened to every one. Couldn’t not write in and tell you how much I love the song, “Seventeen”, and “The Facts of Life”. That’s all.

  2. Hey ladies! Love the new format however, when will you talk about Producer Kathee? What happened?

    • Yes, inquiring minds want to know.

    • No kidding Lorraine! I am so glad someone has finally mentioned it. I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER to hear the story on this. At least Lynette has acknowledged that they will talk about it as soon as they can. On the Adam Carolla Show they haven’t even mentioned Donnie in the longest time. It is totally like the elephant in the room.

    • Seconded. Whatever the story is regarding Donny/Kathee/the cousin, it should be pretty interesting. I don’t think I would have even noticed if they hadn’t referenced Gary and how wonderful he is. Makes it sound like they’re relieved to have Gary instead of Kathee. Hopefully someday Adam will tell the story on his show, since he’s so concerned with what the fans want.

  3. The guest did a great job of getting Stephanie off the negative re the country singer and her weight. Why go there….Great job Mr. Wild. You’re intelligent and you worked your magic in the conversation.

  4. good shows …it’s just sometimes the sound levels jump from soft to loud

  5. Really interesting and obviously intelligent guest…great show!

  6. this was one of the best epsiodes, wonderful guest, very entertaining! you ladies are getting more comfortable pocasting and it shows, every epsiode gets better!

  7. Mrs. Fuller says:

Really enjoy the fun you all are having with the new show. Great guest and hope Mr. Wild returns again soon. I particularly enjoy that you play the full song at the very end of the show. Tonight it simply helped me finish up some tedious household chores with a smile on my face. So thanks for always – ALWAYS – making me smile.

  8. In yesterday’s podcast, Adam talked about his falling out with Donnie, which I’m assuming explains what happened to Kathee on this show. It’s always sad when we lose old friends to disagreements. That said, I’m glad Kathee is off the podcast. I always found it annoying when she would interrupt the show to chime in with her comments.

Hope to hear Teresa on the podcast this year!!

  9. ElissaKatherine says:

    Hey Lynette, Stephanie, Gary!

Love Mr. Wild’s zest and enthusiasm for music.

Putting a lid with a pot ( I remembered the following as I was second row in Milwaukee!) –

While on the road, the Raspberries were pleasantly surprised to hear that Bruce Springsteen, also out on tour, was regularly championing their praises to his audiences. A sample shout out from “The Boss” at a solo show on August 7, 2005 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin:

“The Raspberries had all those great hits and they made this one record, ‘Overnight Sensation.’ It’s one of the best little pop symphonies you’ll ever hear. Go out and download—but pay for it. (laughs) Get ‘Overnight Sensation’ by the Raspberries when you go home. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Go All The Way” should have been the podcast outro IMO.:)
